I am thankful in these times

I just realised that I have not posted a blog in a while!!!! SORRY! Well i just want to say how thankful I am to have a job. I started working about 3 weeks ago and have been very blessed to have a job and also get a break from the bear (Dax!) In the same thought I feel guilty!!! Because I don't REALLY need the job its just nice to have some spare money and a break. I am also thankful that Logan is spending some time with us while Tyler is in the hospital. Brody loves the company and they are for sure partners in crime!!! I am thankful to have two wonderful children in my life who keep me on my toes! I am also glad that Katie is having a Girl so I cant put bows and pick things on her and in her hair!!! Yay for that! On the other hand I have a friend who has a baby in the hospital who is so tiny. Please pray for her and hope for her fast recovery. On the other hand I would like to wish all of you Happy Holidays better yet MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Twilight

I was able to go see Twilight at the midnight showing and I don't regret a minute of it other than it is so much better the second time and maybe that is because you are not half asleep!

I was so excited to hear today that they have announced that there will be New Moon in the making!!!!I cant wait!

OK so Edward is so hot!!

I think that they did a great job with the casting! The only person I had a hard time with was Carlisle he was a little much for me. But Emmett was great and Alice was PERFECT! Bella Blinked a little too much for me thanks to Jamie pointing that out!!! If you haven't seen it yet you should at least to see Edward!!!!
(P.S. For those of you that know I hate bella so badly but she was great in the movie but I have to admit that i'm worried about New Moon thats when she is the worst!)

Great for a Laugh!

Jamie bought these Binky's for the boys as a treat for Halloween. I just love how you can help but laugh at them!

Brody isn't so sure when everyone is looking at him with it in but when no one is paying attention he loves it.

Dax doesn't care one bit if everyone is looking at him a Binky is a Binky to him right now.

This was the funniest picture we got of Brody, He was a monkey for Halloween and the "teeth" went perfect with his costume!

I hope everyone had a fun Halloween and got lots of treats, we sure did!!!

I've heard of sidewalk chalk but wall chalk?

Isn't amazing how sneaky our children can be? The neighbor came over to drop off a class list for the nursery and Brody stepped out onto the porch with me. I then go back into the house and finish doing the dishes and talking on the phone to my mom as I always do while she is on her way home. I'm sure that she was wondering what was going on when I Shout " Brody NO! I got to go..." Well as I turned around this is what I see.....

Oh no! He must have grabbed a piece of chalk in the whole thirty seconds I was at the door!

I also find it all over the couch on my way to get the camera. All I could think about is "Did I honestly NOT pay attention to my child for that long?"

Notice how tiny the piece is in his hands. Brody didn't seem too upset only a little worried! After I realised that thank goodness it was only chalk and not markers or crayons. I call my mom back just giggling as I calm her down and explain what just happened!! So I will for sure keep any crayons or markers, pens etc far from reach!!

What a Game!

Jon's dad was given some tickets to the game last night and Jon and I were able to go with his parents to the game. I'm not a football fan nor a Utes fan but it was fun to go to a game and see the excitement and passion some people have for the team and sport. On our way up the huge hill we passed a group of boys walking with thumbs out so we were in the truck and decided to give them a ride to the top. They were so happy because that hill was HUGE and a good two miles straight up!

Here is the band lined up playing while the team came running in.

Once the game got started We went to get some dinner and ate at the Maui burger stand we all got the Garlic burger with cheese, Man were they good and the fresh cut fries and pickle!

Jon and I have some fun taking self pictures!

After a close game that was won by Utah in the last 2 seconds the students went nuts, if you look closely they are jumping onto the field. I watch a few totally fall then get jumped on by the next one coming down.

Just some more Jumping!

After we sat in the parking lot for about an hour we finally got on the road. We had a really fun time and I think I could be a Ute fan just so I can wear the color Red as much as I want!

My new best Friend!!!!!

Well as most of you know I have a little boy who loves to scream non-stop! Well not no more!!!!! For 8 weeks straight he cried non stop and I was beginning to think my name was Bethany and his was Kashton! So I talked to the doctor and he thought that maybe he was having a hard time breaking down my milk, so we switched him to formula called Nutramigen. I could not believe the difference in him with just one feeding. I have to say that I wish I would have switched sooner except for the fact that it is very pricey ($27 a can) and you use alot more because they are packed scoops not the normal loose scoop. But Bethany there is hope!!!! Here is the new and improved Dax Sleeping in his bouncy seat and me not holding him! Brody is loving that he has a mom again to play with him!

Well i know neither of my boys look like this! why must they make their noses so huge looking on such a tiny face?

Giving this a try

Well i'm not one for home parties but I have fallen in love with these Scentsy candles! They are wickless and are melted by a light bulb, I really like these because with my brain these days I would forget to blow out a candle and burn the house down or something! With these I feel safer because its just plugged in and thats it, heck we leave our tvs plugged in all the time and nothing happens!!! Anyways I have started to be a consultant and selling these on the side. If any of you are interested in ordering some or even want to just see how they smell or work let me know. (you'll love them!) Here is my personal page ( I feel so important!) scentsy.com/nemelka You can order right off it if you already know what you like or need, or you can just browse the smells and burners. The room sprays and car candles are great they work very well. I personally always have the room spray in my diaper bag for those awful smelling public bathrooms!

Dax's sleep study

As many of you read in some of my previous blogs I mention that dax had severe sleep apnea and was dropping 83 times a hour. We did a follow up study with his oxygen on and no feeding tube to see if he had improved in the 2 weeks he was home. Here is what his test looked like while he was in the hospital.... He should have a pretty solid line at the 100 mark at the top and as you can see he couldnt stay there at all.

Here is the test he took a few nights ago....

Such a HUGE difference you would think that the chart was upside down but its not he just had a great inprovement which I had expected because the doctors had said that the apnea could be beccuse the tube wasw irritating his throat. I really think this shows that! When the doctor read the study he was so shocked because oxygen doesnt fix the problem like that. I am just greatful that he is doing so well and I hope that soon he can be off the oxygen completely once we do one more study on plain old room air.

Thanks for the dinner! Can I borrow your broom?

So our ward decided that they would wait to bring our family dinner until after Dax came home. We were very grateful and the food was great! One was so great I got so excited to take this dishes back and thank them . . . . .WELL as I got out of the car in their driveway the glass lid slid off the dish and SHATTERS all over their driveway.OH MY GOSH! Did I feel like an idiot! So my father and I walk up to the door and when they answered we just smiled and i simply say," Thanks for the dinner can I borrow your broom?" He looks at us confusingly and I can't help but giggle while I explain what just happened!

Here is some of the pile we swept up!

I know this picture isn't the best but the glass flew all the way to the street in big chunks so my dad was picking them up so they didn't also get a flat tire to go along with their broken dish!! As I sit here and write this blog I cant stop laughing about how stupid I felt. So I hope you all can laugh along as I go to Target to buy a new dish!

He Passed!!!

On Tuesday Dax had his Follow up swallow study and PASSED!!!! SO he no longer has to have his feeding tube down his nose. He gets very sleepy when he eats so it takes a while to feed him but what do you expect when this is your first go at eating in your three and a half weeks of life?!? I think he is doing so well though for all that he has been through and learn. Brody is such sweet big brother with him. The other night we were just done eating dinner when Dax started to cry in the living room so my mom got up to go get him and Brody Took off running Pushing all of us out of the way so that he could help his brother. He is so cute and gentle with him and loves to help in every way he can.

We are home...and LOVING it!!

After 15 days in the hospital we are home! I have to admit that in 18 months I forgot how much attention is required for a newborn, and to add a 19 month old also! But I wouldn't have it any other way I love my 2 sweet babies! Dax is doing well and growing each day. Tuesday we will go back to Primarys to have a follow up swallow study to see if it is okay to remove the NJ feeding tube and let him nurse normally (keep your fingers crossed!). I will let you know how his tests go and soon as I know the results for now here are a few pictures.

Just a close up on his sweet face!

This was they first time he had been dressed since he was born. We were just waiting to be discharged.

Brody loves his little brother and wants to be right by him every minute. They both fell asleep in grandma's bed and you can see by the picture that Brody had to be right by his side to touch his head if Dax cried.

Home or bust.....

WE ARE GOING HOME! After all these tests we finally found the problem, Dax has severe sleep Apnea at night which is easily fixed by a small amount of oxygen. The test was done last night for 12 hours and it found that he is dropping his oxygen 83 times an hour and dropping 10 times they consider bad so they think that for the most part he just needs to grow and should be healed by his due date of August 15Th. For now we will go home with oxygen and his NJ tube for his feedings for a little while. We will do another sleep study in a few weeks to check his progress. I will update with pictures tomorrow! AGAIN thanks for all you love and support and keeping us in your prayers.

Daxie day 10

Well we are still up at primarys for now. We have had just about every test possible done at this point including a EKG, Bronchial scope, head ultrasound, upper GI, echo and coming soon..... A sleep test! It has been so frustrating because each day is something new that they need to do tests on. We originally came up here for stridor and now they are on to sleep apnea. The one thing that I see good in all this is that Once we leave here we will know that there is NOTHING wrong with him. Jon and I along with my parents would like to thank everyone for your calls, prayers and support it has really meant alot to us. As for me I have a section of my wound that never closed so my wonderful mom packs this open wound for me 2 times a day. If its not one thing its another. So there you have it for now! I'll try to update you more often when I get a chance.

Daxie Update

Yesterday Dax was "life flighted" to primary children's. That's what they call it because the life flight team comes in and transports him in a intensive care unit ambulance.

They moved him up there because they want a ear nose and throat specialist to look at his breathing and what they call stridor. He is eating all his meals by mouth and doing very well. He may have to come home on a little oxygen because he drops into the 70's every once in a while when he should be 95 or higher. When the team came to pick him up This is the bed I see to take him in!

I think that we were all a little worried that he wasn't going to fit!

But he did ( barely!)

As of yesterday they said he should be discharged with in a few days so I'm hoping by the weekend.

A great big FRANKS to James!!

I would just like to thank my WONDERFUL sister Jamie for taking care of me last night!! She came with a bag of goodies including treats, a book stuff for Jon and all the stuff for a pedicure...

And a Manicure!

It was so nice to be pampered in the hospital and have someone massage my legs and feet then paint them just like I went to a salon! It really helped me relax and feel good. I was so stressed with having Dax in the NICU and not having my milk come in to give him those antibodies he really needs right now. Thanks to James helping me relax soon after she left the dairy opened!!! Thanks again James I really appreciate it and love you so much!

Also thank you to all that have called and commented and kept us in your thoughts and prayers. It means alot to us and we really appreciate you.

Dax 3 days old

Dax is doing alot better today. He is still having some trouble breathing when he gets upset and stops breathing for a short time. His coloring has gone a little yellow so he is on the special lights to help clear it up. He is still being fed through the tube in his nose but the doctor said that they would try to bottle feed him since we are not allowed to hold him with the central line in his belly there for I can not attempt to breast feed him. Here are a few pictures of my Sweet obese preemie!!!

His nurse Roxanne made him this name card last night. Look at his big tiny feet.

I love when I get to see his cute eyes open.

Dax really loves his binkies, so he sticks his fingers in the hole!

He gets to wear these funny foam glasses while under the lights!
